Laser Radial & Standard – European Championship 2018 – La Rochelle FRA – Day 5

Fresh winds prevailed also on the second day of the Laser Europeans Final Series off La Rochelle.Matthew Wearn AUS extended his lead in the Lasers Standard on 4 points. New on rank 2 and best European is now Pavlos Kontides CYP. Sam Meech NZL is another 3 points back. Philipp Buhl GER moved up on rank 4 (2nd European) thanks to a race win.With the day ranks 1 and 2, Marit Bouwmeester NED extended her lead in the Radials women on 11 points. New on rank 2 is now Paige Railey USA followed one point back by Maxime Jonker NED. Two races were held yesterday to conclude the Qualification Series for the Gold- and Silverfleets, again in perfect sailing conditions with sun and a fresh wind. Matthew Wearn AUS added another two race wins in his group on his results sheet in the Lasers Standard, but Sam Meech NZL remains in touch only one point behind on rank 2. Andrew McKenzie NZL on 3rd completes the downunder leader trio. The best European is Pavlos Kontides CYP on rank 4. Philipp Buhl GER moved up on the 5th place with a race win. Out of the top is the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS on rank 37, who produced two premature starts, and one of them remains in the overall results. Winning 5 of the 6 races sailed, Maxime Jonker NED defended her lead in the Radial women 5 points ahead of Marit Bouwmeester NED an. Emma Plaeschart BEL is new on rank 3. In the Radials men, Nik Pletikos SLO is still on top one point ahead of Federico Tocchi ITA. Marcin Rudawski POL moved up on rank 3. All ranking lists and the daily news....

Olympic Worldcup – Semaine Olympic – Hyères FRA – Day 2 – the Swiss

Light winds prevailed on Hyères Bay on day two of the Worldcup event.Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI mastered the conditions the best in the RS:X men windsurfers and with the ranks 15/3/8, he advanced on rank 6 overall. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI finished the only race of the day in the 470 women on rank 11 only and dropped on rank 10. Chances for the Medal Race have also Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI in the 49ers as a 2nd race rank in race 2 promoted them on 15th overall. Nacra 15 – World Championship – Barcelona ESP – Final results

On the last day of the inaugural Nacra-15 World Championship, a 15kn breeze filled in providing the best sailing conditions so far, and four more races were held. As best of the day, Henri Demesmaeker/Frederique Van Eupen BEL moved on top of the rankings and clearly won the title with 26 points advantage. Silver went to Doran Gouran/Kenza Coutard FRA. The wind was too strong for the previous dominators Thomas Proust/Clément Martineau FRA, relegated on rank 3, but winning the U16 title. 60 teams from 20 nations participated.The ranking list and the final report....

Olympic Worldcup – Semaine Olympic – Hyères FRA – Day 3 – Race win for Maud Jayet SUI !

The Swiss highlight of the day was the race win of Maud Jayet SUI in the Lasers Radial ! After rather medium results till now, she jumps on rank 21 overall, but a Medal Race qualification remains too far away in the last races of today. The best option to qualify for the Medal Race of the best 10 remains with Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI as 9th in the RS:X men windsurfers. The only Swiss qualified for one of the five Medal Races sailed yesterday was Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI. Thanks to a 2nd race rank, he moved up on rank 9 overall in the RS:X men windsurfers. Nacra 15 – World Championship – Barcelona ESP – Day 3

After two days ashore waiting for wind, the World Championship of the Nacra-15 was finally kicked-off in Barcelona yesterday. Light and unconstant winds prevailed and only the overall leaders Doran Gouran/Kenza Couard FRA finshed the three races in the top-10. Arnaud Grange/Marie Van der Klink SUI followed on rank 2, Gildwen Moriceaux/Billy Margaux FRA on rank 3. Dominating was the U-16 boys team Thomas Proust/Clément Martineau FRA with two bullets, but a 31st keeps them down on rank 8 for the moment. Nacra 15 – United 4 Sailing – Medemblik NED – Final results

14 Youth Classes participated in the United 4 sailing regatta on the Ijssel-Meer over the past weekend. In most classes, sailors from the Netherlands and Belgium were on the entry lists. Only in the Nacra 15, Swiss teams were among the starters with good results.
