This Zap 26 was produced out of the Production Molds but not the Production Line. When the Zap Production ended a builder in the PNW got the molds and used Balsa and S-Glass. Built like a brick shit house this boat is without doubt a proper boat. Notice in the photos, the golden balsa core. Strong and stiff with a 5’5″ draft this boat points and goes, leaving others of similar size behind. When you turn the corner and hoist, you notice it has about 36″ longer ISP. Compined with a 34′ P and 11’E you have ample sailarea to break loose and go fast. With low wetted surface and a wide deck this boat is fast in light air and has plenty of power and speed in a breeze. At 3200 lbs and a flat bottom this boat breaks loose quickly. The boat in So Cal rates 135,135,135 phrf. I have the 2022 PHRF Cert and an ORRez cert too

On paper the SC27 and Zap 26 are almost identical except the Zap is a Frac Rig.There are only a few of these fast and fun boats sailing. This one is a Turn Key purchase. Buy it and go sailing, no work needed (maybe a good scrubbing).

As I am getting older (now 65) and also disabled (25 years in a wheelchair), it is getting tough for me to sail such a lively boat and have made the decision to sell. (must sell)
Almost everything on board has been replaced.

New Mast in 2015 and Rigging. Some of the Shrouds and headstay have been recently replaced.
Main Traveler Harken windward sheeting car
Ullman Fiber Path Main, #1, #2 and .6 Airex Sym Spin
3hp 4 stroke merc long shaft with Removable hinged mount (like Olson 30)
Olson 30 double axle trailer w/ele brakes. Wireing replacing at the front of the wiring harness (I have the new harness) and trailer has some rust.
Cleaned and recoated the bilge and keelbolts are all shiny

Most recent is

New Harken 3:1/6:1 endless mainsheet system and new mainsheet
SS Lifelines and Stanchions w/aft gate I needed to get on and off.
New Main and Winch Covers

I Can send links to many more photos. here are vids of me and crew https://www.youtube.com/@davidtrude9238/videos

After 19 years in publication, Sailing Anarchy has remained true to its roots as a community oriented, edgy sailing publisher. We have long been, and will continue to be, the leader in providing inside stories, great reports from around the globe, along with the informative, snarky, profane coverage that you have come to expect. Others come and go, dilly dally with bullshit, while we remain Anarchists to the core.
