I am selling my 1984 Hunter 34, Leilani. The bottom line is that if you want a killer cruiser/racer and you don’t want to spend a fortune, this is your boat.
The Hunter 34 was designed by Cortland Steck to be a light air cruiser/racer on the East Coast. She is foxy and fast–competitive on the race course and super comfortable at the island.
Leilani is a well known local boat and represents a turnkey racing program. She rates 144, and will sail to her rating. Notable recent race results include:
3 time trophy winner Newport to Ensenada, 4th place Newport to Ensenada 2019, 3rd place Santa Barbara to King Harbor, numerous Wednesday night beer can wins.
The boat sleeps 6 comfortably. It has hot water, a shower, a head, and a galley.
She has been optimized for racing and has been updated in the following ways:
New Standing Rigging 2014
Refurbished Mast 2014
Bottom taken to gel-coat, cake battered, and sprayed 2015
New Running Rigging 2017/18
Movable fair-lead cars
64:1 adjustable back-stay 2018
Harken Roller furling
New stripes painted on the boat 2014
The boat comes with polars
140 Jib Dacron
153 North Sails 3dL
153 Custom Carbon String Sail
100 Kevlar Jib
UK main Dacron
.60 Ullman Asym Spin
This is hands down the best sailing Hunter 34 you will ever find. The boat is exceptionally well balanced and has very little weather helm. Come out and see for yourself.
