geriatric worlds

68-year-old Augie Diaz once again proved that age is just a number (for him, anyway!) by winning the SDYC International Masters Regatta this past weekend. Sailed in the class that refuses to die, J/105’s, the largely light air series had a pretty good battle for the lead.

But Diaz, with San Diego brain trust talent – Mark Reynolds, Benny Mitchell and Chuck Sinks (with of course the usual good bow work from Al Pleskus) – ended up winning the regatta with a 4-point cushion over second place Terry McLaughlin.
