The European Union has revealed its new sanctions measures against Russia in the context of the Ukrainian conflict. The nautical industry is now affected, well beyond superyachts.
As part of its 4th sanction package against Russia since the start of the war in Ukraine , the European Union has expanded the range of products affected by export bans. Included in the list of luxury goods that European companies can no longer sell to Russians, pleasure boats are found alongside high-end cars and planes. Any motorboat, sailboat and other nautical leisure craft worth more than €50,000 can no longer leave the EU for the Russian market from March 15, 2022.
The action was decided in a coordinated way and should also be applied by the United States .
