There are thoughts that the old Alinghi mafia (Coutts/Butterworth) might be positioning themselves for a return to the America’s Cup.
Well, the NZ website Stuff is now reporting the same suspicion, including hard news that Burling and Tuke, the spearheads of the Team New Zealand operation, have not yet signed on with the team for the next defense.
And where have Burling and Tuke been spending the past two months? With SailGP which, as we know, is run by a certain Russell Coutts.
