Aeolos Yachts
has an experienced team behind the young, fresh brand. Their first boat, the AEOLOS PERFORMANCE 30, is a 1.5t light trailerable racer optimized for short-handed sailing up to Cat A. According to their website it will go particularly well under ORC.
Development of the all-carbon racing boat started last year during the lockdown, with the aim of producing a very fast two-handed sailing yacht. Boat weight targets have been driven down as the yard moves into series production, in partnership with NOTUS Composites, a UAE-based supplier of prepregs, has developed some new materials for the boat.
Built-in an air-conditioned layup area, the first Aeolos P30 is taking shape. After finishing all the CNC milled molds, the entire boat is being made in low-temperature curing prepregs. Thanks to the 4-5 days open time, it can be finished carefully and precisely. The staff on the boat are experienced working with the new prepreg material; having recently fabricated the Museum of the Future in Dubai, with more than a million square meters of the fabric.
In about 6 weeks Aeolos Yachts will launch the first boat, followed by a launch scheduled every month from that point, with 5 boats already sold…
