The notion of running the Olympics in this current era of Covid was and is an absolutely terrible decision. And now given the CDC’s most recent “Level 4: Do Not Travel” warning, it is time to pull the plug.
Yes, we are aware of this county’s obsession with the Olympics, and specifically US Sailing’s fetishization of an event that the USA routinely gets beaten and humiliated every four years. It is so bad that should a single yank get a bronze medal, it is hailed as a great success.
So while we are all waiting for the Cayard the Great to magically transform the US Sailing team into a global power, and given the above Covid issues, the IOC should kill the Olympics for 2021.
