Olympic Classes – Olympic Qualifiers Asia & Africa – Muscat OMN – Day 2

With somewhat fresher winds around 12kn, the skiffs were able to sail 3 races yesterday, the other classes 2 races each. In the 49ers, an exciting battle is developing for the Asian Olympic berth: Musab Al Hadi/Waleed Issa AlKindi OMN took the lead with the day ranks 1/2/1. Only 2 points behind, Hong Wei/Chao Xiang CHN and Ganapathy Kelapanda Chengappa/Varun Ashok Thakkar IND share 2nd place. Benjamin Talbot Daniel/Alex Burger RSA in 4th are on their way to secure the African Olympic starting place. —– In the 49ersFX, Chen Shasha/Ye Jin CHN held on to the top spot, but as best of the day (1/1/2), Molly Highfield/Sandy Wing Chi Choi HKG moved to 2nd within 3 points. —– In Lasers Radial, Nethra Kumaran IND has taken the lead, with Eva Savalon NED following 3 points behind in second. —– In Lasers Standard, Ryan Lo Jun Han SGP, Keerati Bualong THA and Vishnu Saravanan IND are tied at the top. —– In the RS:X windsurfers, Natthapong Phonoppharat THA extended his lead, and in the female windsurfer, Charizanne Napa PHI has won 4 of the 5 races so far. —– All rankings and the event website (without daily report yet).
