This morning at the editorial deadline (6h UTC), Alexa Barrier FRA (TSE-4myplanet) finished 24th in Les Sables dOlonne. A fortnight ago, the Frenchwoman injured her back in a fall into the cockpit, so that she could hardly move. Easterly winds in the Bay of Biscay forced her to sail upwind the last two days, a painful affair. All 6 women have completed their circumnavigations. —– Ari Huusela FIN (Stark) is now the last to remain at sea, with 950 miles to go.
