The NZ government has now imposed an immediate week-long COVID lockdown on Auckland, meaning the first week of the scheduled America’s Cup will be delayed.

All non-essential travel and outdoor activity is severely restricted. (The move is in response to the discovery of one infectious 21-year-old having wandered about the city for five days before diagnosis.)  The Americas Cup is scheduled to start on March 6, the seventh day of the lockdown.
