IMOCA Open 60 – Vendée Globe – Day 78 – Close sailing, everything possible

This morning UTC, the leader Charlie Dalin FRA (Apivia) still had 825 miles to go to the Sables dOlonne – expected arrival on Wednesday. But who will win this time remains an open question! Louis Burton (Bureau Vallée 2) took the lead yesterday for a couple of hours and is only 32 miles behind Dalin this morning. Boris Herrmann GER (SeaExplorer) is still in third place, 69 miles behind. With his time credit of 6 hours, he is even in the lead at the moment! The best Non-Foiler is Damien Seguin FRA (Groupe Apicil) on rank 6 with a 297 miles deficit, but Jean Le Cam FRA (Yes we Cam!) sailing 230 miles behind Seguin – he recovered Kevin Escoffier FRA on the Indian Ocean – will move far ahead with his time credit of 16 hours. In the Bay of Biscay, however, another flat high is now waiting, and major changes are still possible! —– The race tracker and the news.
