Today, the maxi-trimaran Gitana will pass the Cape of Good Hope, probably more than a day faster than record holder Francis Joyon FRA needed with his IDEC three years ago. Franck Cammas FRA, Charles Caudrelier FRA and their team continue going fast with 754 miles in 24 hours. In the Indian Ocean, however, Gitana will lose some of its lead: Three years ago, IDEC took just 4 days and 11 hours to reach Cape Leeuwin at the southern tip of Australia, a fabulous time !
