Internet video of this collision on the Solent in 2011 has been viewed more than a million times. Miraculously, there were no serious injuries on the 33’ Atlanta of Chester after her collision with the 869’ tanker Hanne Knutsen. The yacht’s skipper, a lieutenant in the Royal Navy reserves, was found guilty of not keeping a proper lookout and “impeding the passage of a vessel”.
