With 685 miles for Sodebo (Thomas Coville FRA) and 714 miles for Gitana (Franck Cammas, Charles Caudrelier FRA), the two maxi-trimarans made – as planned- a quick start to their record attempt in the first 24 hours. Sailing this morning off the coast of Portugal in fresh winds with speeds above 30kn (here the video), they are already more than 60 miles ahead of record holder Francis Joyon FRA. The fast ride is expected to continue over the next few days. —– The report and the race tracker by Sodebo. There is no common race tracker yet, here the one of Gitana.
