IMOCA Open 60 – Vendée Globe – Les Sables dOlonne FRA – Day 7, Thomson GBR reclaims rank 1 sailing in the trade winds

After the turbulent starting week with the passage of two stormy low-pressure fronts, the top group has finally reached the trade winds. With sunshine and good sailing conditions, the fleet continues to stretch out —– Alex Thomson GBR (Hugo Boss) taking advantage of the foils (plus 5kn) reclaimed rank one. Jean Le Cam FRA (Yes we Cam, Non-Foiler) follows 23nm behind in 2nd place. With Benjamin Dutreux FRA (OMIA) in 3rd position (80nm behind) and Damien Séguin FRA (Apicil, 120nm behind) in 4th, the other chasers are on non-foilers as well.
