Fred Duthil FRA scored an opportunistu0092s victory yesterday taking the winning gun for leg 3 on the 51st La Solitaire de Figaro off Saint Nazaire. At the end of an epic, extremely tiring 492 miles stage from Dunkirk around Brittany, punctuated throughout by very light winds, strong tidal currents, and many changes in wind direction, Duthil made big recoveries from deep in the fleet in the changing conditions and won 15 minutes in front of Marc Mallaret FRA, the first Bizuth (rookie). The overall leader Armel Le Cléach FRA, also coming from the back-end of the fleet, crossed the line in 4th with a 52-minute backlog and remained on top overall. But Duthil follows only 10 minutes behind in the overall rankings. —– The results of leg 3, the news and the videos. —– The start to the final 4th leg over 183nm to Loire Atlantic will be given on Saturday.
