Back on June 3rd we called the postponement of The Ocean Race only to apologize 3 days later for being somewhat premature. Well it is now official, The Ocean Race IS postponed for one year.
At Sailing Anarchy we are glad of this common sense decision as, with the global economy hurting as it is, the already challenging task of finding sponsors with the PR & Advertising budget to fund a team in The Ocean Race had become an almost impossibility.
So reset your calendars for a race start in October 2022 with a finish in Genoa in 2023, the 50th Anniversary of the original Whitbread Round The World Race and which is still the only fully crewed ocean race to route round the great Southern Capes.
