The National Hospice Regatta Alliance has decided to cancel the 2020 Hospice Regattas Championship, the three-day regatta which had been re-scheduled to mid-November in Charleston, SC.
Alliance president Mark LeNeave announced the decision “with regret” in e-mails to skippers who had been nominated to compete by local hospice regattas. “After 20 consecutive years of conducting our Championship, the Alliance board is disappointed, like many of you,” LeNeave said.
“But after regular consultation with our partners in Charleston, we conclude it will not be possible to conduct a multi-day regatta with competitors traveling from other parts of the U.S.,” he added.
