Sailing has the power to help disadvantaged young people learn vital skills and chart the right course in life.
Simon Le Bon – frontman of legendary pop group Duran Duran, RYA member and one of our most high-profile yachtsmen – is reflecting on a day racing with a group of young people brought together by the Tall Ships Youth Trust, the UK’s oldest and largest sail training charity.
“They were in heaven,” he says of the youngsters from London’s Tower Hamlets. “They were loving sailing and working as a team. They all wanted to make the boat go faster and were doing everything they could because they were in a race and wanted to win!” Read on.
