Next November, Samantha Davis GBR will start to the Vendée Globe for the third time. With her foiling IMOCA Open 60 Initiatives des Coeurs, she is among the co-favorites, as demonstrated in the various Open 60 regattas during the past months. She started her offshore career at the age of 24 onboard of Tracy Edwards GBR trimaran Maiden in a Jules Verne Trophy around the world record attempt, which ended with a broken mast in the Roaring Forties. After successes in the one-hand class Bénéteau Figaro, she finished her first Vendée Globe 2008 in 4th place. With 3 Vendée participations and a Volvo Ocean Race, she is now one of the most experienced skippers in the one-hand offshore circuit. —– A 52-minute film portrait.
