18 Footer – JJ Giltinan Trophy – Invitation Race – Final results, Aussies ahead of Kiwis


The international sailracing season 2020 continues in regions not (yet) touched by the Corona virus. The highlight of the coming week will be the 18-Footer JJ Giltinan-Trophy on Sydney Harbour, launched this morning UTC with the Invitation Race. The first encounter of the Australian and New Zealand teams went clearly in favour of the Aussies. The dominators of the season, Tech2 of Brett Van Munster AUS ruled the show ahead of Smeg with Micah Lane AUS. The 2019 defending champions Honda Marine with David Macdiarmid NZL followed on rank 5. —– Sun and a 15-18kn breeze prevailed today for the 24 Teams from AUS and NZL racing. —– Tomorrow, the Championship will be kicked off with race one. Nine Races are scheduled until Sunday, March 22nd.
