um, it’s inspired!

A number of paintings in the ‘style of the old master’ have appeared in auction houses over the years with marked similarities to famous Renaissance painters but not quite there in terms of technique or quality.

This however must be the first instance of a photographer entering a shot in a global photography competition, in this case the Mirabaud Yachting Photographer of the Year, which has such a marked resemblance to the ‘old master’s’ work.

Nice try Wang Bo but Carlo Borlengi’s composition leaves yours for dead. All this does is lend fuel to the fire that Chinese are very good at copying.

Of course we are not suggesting the inclusion in the final 80 has been influenced that Mirabaud exhibited at China Cup which pays Wang Bo to shoot the regatta, perish the thought.

So, compliment or just plagiarism?  – you decide!
