Olympic News – Mixed Offshore Double-Handed Event – Problems, problems !

The Mixed Offshore Double Handed event, imposed on the Olympic sailing community by World Sailing replacing the most popular Finn Dinghy at the 2024 Olympics, turns more and more out to be an ill-prepared project, from the selection of the boat – the not-yet-known 10-metre yachts will be the most expensive equipment ever -, to the team qualification program with 20 Olympic nation berths available, and last-but-not-least the integration of this event at Olympic regattas and lead in events. David Abercombie NZL, CEO of Yachting New Zealand and Member of the World Sailing Event Committee, reveals his concerns in a explicit interview in Sail World.
