For many the remembrance is a slab of granite beside a grave. For a sailor however, especially a racing sailor, what could be more appropriate than a racing mark named after you so that for some time to come people might wonder, then bother to find out why a mark had a particular name.
That is exactly what David Witt and the Scallywag crew have done for the their fellow crewmember with the latest Solent Racing Mark being laid in the name of John Fisher.
Not content with that they took a RIB out the other day and ‘had a drink’ with John to pay their respects.
Many people criticise Witty along the way but here one word is appropriate -Respect! – SS.
