From the Fabulous Forums…
We went out the other day, before the scorching heat arrived. I wanted to see if I could get this boat dialed in – get a feel for her sailing abilities. Winds were mostly in the 8-12 range.
I couldn’t get her to point worth a shit. While on a beam or broad reach we were occasionally topping 7kn, once we turned upwind she bogged down to around 3kn. Speeds are SOG.
I’m thinking the genny is too bagged out. No matter how I adjust things I can’t get the shape set.
I’ve never had this problem before so I’m asking here – does this sound like the sails are shot or could pointing issues be related to the boat?
FWIW, it’s an Aloha 32. Jump in.
