NEW WORLD SPEED SAILING RECORD for the 1 nautical mile in Kitesurf: 39.04 knots in La Palme France by American sailor Robbie Douglas US-55 (Flysurfer kites and Temavento boards) June 10th 2019! (Subject to WSSRC ratification). Rob sailed his production 7 and 6 meter Flysurfer Souls and his prototype Temavanto board “V55” in the beautiful Tramontane winds of 30-45 knots in the Mediterranean Sea.
