49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 – European Championship 2019 – Weymouth GBR – Day 1 – the only NorAm boats in the top-20 are 12th Tenhove/Millen CAN (49erFX) and 19th Snow/Wilson USA (49er)


Yesterday, the 2019 European Championships of the Olympic speed classes were initiated on the Olympic waters of Weymouth GBR. —- Winning all three races, Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA mastered the difficult conditions – especially for the foiling Nacras-17 with a breeze around 16kn and considerable waves – the best and have taken the lead ahead of Vittorio Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA 3 points behind. Tara Pacheco/Florian Trittel ESP follow on rank 3. Sarah Newberry/David Liebenberg USA are 24th, Allie Surrette/Max Flinn CAN 47th. —- In the 49ersFX, the Youth World Champions Vilma Bobeck/Malin Tengström SWE won two races and are on top overall ahead of the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA and Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED on 2nd and 3rd. Alexandra Tenhove/Mariah Millen CAN are on 12th and Paris Henken/Anna Tobias Tunnicliffe USA on 38th. —- In the 49ers, teams from down under are on the first positions with Logan Dunning/Oscar Gunn NZL leading one point ahead of a trio with Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL, Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP and Will and Sam Phillips AUS.
