After a day with tough conditions, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS remained on top of the 470 men fleet extending their lead on Dahlberg/Bergström SWE to 7 points. Xammar/Rodriguez ESP are new on rank 3. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA follow on the 15th place. —- In the 470 women, Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR reclaimed rank 1 with Lecointre/Retornaz FRA and Mas-Depares/Cantero ESP as first challengers. Both women USA teams slightly improved their rankings: Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA are 30th, Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weiss USA 37th (including three DNCs and an UFD). —- The three fleets (gold and silver men and women) had their first race of the day in the late morning in an intial 15kn eastwind increasing to and exceeding 25kn prompting the RC to interrupt racing until 17h in the afternoon. However, the 15-20kn turned again into over 30kn, making it for a challenging race for everyone and causing capsizes and equipment failures, including broken masts for Xammar/Rodriguez ESP, Dahlberg/Bergström SWE or Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI). —- All results, the daily news and the must-see video of the day.
