J/70 – 2018 World Championship, Marblehead USA, Duncan USA 1st after two races

Though racing for the 91 J/70s on the Opening Day of the World Championship in Marblehead USA with a cold and wet southeasterly stiring up the sea to waves topping three meters. After two races, the fleet was called back to harbour, postponing race 3.The defending World Champion Peter Duncan (USA) has taken the interims lead finishing twice on rank 2. Claudia Rossi (ITA), ranks 4 and 1 is on 2nd, Bruce Golison (USA), twice on 3rd is 3rd overall as well. Alberto Rossi (ITA) is on the 4th place, Vincenzo Onorato ITA racing under the Yacht Club de Monaco flag is 5th. Massimo Soriano SUI and his team, ranks 62 and 18, is on the 39th place overall. In the Corinthian Class, Jim Cunningham (USA), Ignacio Perez (MEX) and Lucas Authier (ARG) occupy the first three places.
