VOR65 – Ocean Race 2017/18 – Leg 10 – Day 1

No wind and a strong tide were the difficult settings for the start of leg 10 of the Volvo Ocean Race in Cardiff. The short, 1300 miles leg to Gothenborg leads the fleet first around Ireland, the wind improved since the start, boats are progressing with an average of 17kn. Dongfeng (Charles Caudrelier FRA) took the lead 4 miles ahead of Brunel (Bouwe Bekking NED), Mapfre (Javi Fernandez ESP) follows close behind on 3rd.
