#1 son did well in the Opti white fleet in Long Island Sound last year in the club’s beater boat, which (no joke) was also used as a party raw bar. So he saved his own money to buy a new-to-him race-ready Zoum Optimist. Now ready for the summer regatta circuit and some travel sailing for next fall and winter.
This is his first time rigging it in the backyard, and making his replacement and spare parts list. The unicorn is the mascot on his dad’s J/105 and he plans to add one to the transom of his Opti.
