Not sure what actually happened, but it looks like Clipper boat Greenings did a Vestas after leaving Cape Town. They just couldn’t wait that long.
They managed to get past one lighthouse, and even though they were still in mobile reception hit land in a national park where there are basically no lights. It was a bit cloudy but there was a half moon up. Can only guess that no one looked past the genoa.
Seems like an exemplary rescue by local NSRI – the local volunteer run charity funded sea rescue body.
