It’s a little tough to say whether the 2017 Barcolana actually beat the 35-year old record for ‘biggest regatta in history’ (2072 boats, held by the 1984 Round Zeeland race), but at somewhere between 2000 and 2100 boats on the line, it was certainly close!
Longtime pro and Triestino tactician Gabriele Benussi and brother Furio took overall honors sailing the old Morning Glory MaxZ86 in what will now forever be known as the world’s biggest sailing race.  More Borlenghi pics on his Insta page here.  Full results (good luck deciphering them) are here.
