Didn’t win the J/70 or J/22 that were raffled off in recent years? Well maybe the 3rd time is a charm.
The Manchester Sailing Association (MSA) began on Boston’s Northshore over 45 years ago. Their mission is to help people of all ages and backgrounds to develop a passion for sailing. Every summer, 200 sailors between ages 7 and 70 enjoy their programs.
This year the program finds itself having to raise money in order to build a new float system for their fleet. Many headwinds make it difficult to keep public sailing programs such as MSA afloat. Not only do they have to deal with dropping enrollments and rising costs, but keeping their infrastructure (on land and water) in compliance with ever evolving environmental standards requires organizations to continually assess their standing and do what it takes (usually $$) to ensure compliance (Eel Grass anyone??).
Thankfully, our friends at Browns Yacht Yard in Gloucester, MA and Zodiac-Nautic understand these challenges. They have collaborated with MSA to offer an opportunity for a lucky person to win a 2017 Zodiac Bayrunner Pro 500 fully equipped with a Yamaha F50 Fourstroke and trailer. This is the perfect runabout to chase your kids around at the local Opti regatta or to take the wife on a harbor cruise after the race.
The drawing will take on July 22nd at MSA’s Silent Auction Fund Raiser. Tickets are $100. Only 375 will be sold. So help some sailing sisters and brothers out and buy yours now. They will go quickly. Jump on it!
