Boston’s first major big boat regatta, Sail for a Change, was founded as a tribute to the life and spirit of our dear friend Alexandra “Ally” Zapp. It has grown to be one of Boston’s most treasured events, and certainly the most fun! In 2015, Founders of the Regatta formed the Boston Youth Sailing Foundation (501(c)(3)) to formally organize, and all funds raised now go directly to support inner-city youth development sailing programs and disabled sailor programs.
Using the sport of sailing and the harbor environment as a platform, we support opportunities for personal growth and development through sailing lessons and educational programs, changing the lives of thousands of kids and disabled persons.
Last year’s event was incredibly successful and allowed BYSF to Contribute $12,000 to Courageous Sailing and Piers Park Sailing. With your help we can make an even bigger impact this year and add Sail Salem to our list of Partner Programs. It feels good to give back… and it does a world of good! Please check us out!
