Local Knowledge
As a regular visitor to your website I liked to see some recent articles on IOR boats. Attached is a picture of Encounter, a Frers 53′ build in 1976 by PJ. This is how we found her in Lauderdale in 2008,
Bringing these boats back to life provides a lot of satisfaction. Most of them are beautiful to look at and “turn heads wherever you go”. They are seaworthy, strong and sail well. The racing scene in the Med is great with some serious competition s.a. Il Moro di Venezia, Outlaw, some old 12 mtr’s and several 1 Tonners (Ganbare, Naif, etc) participating in the CIM class.
Numerous events which are generally very well organised and sponsored take place in the most beautiful sailing spots. With most of them having a reasonably comfortable interior they make good cruising boats as well. Hope your articles will bring more people to join!
