Designed by Philippe Briand and built by Goetz in Rhode Island, as well as competing for several years on the World Series (including with the ed’s personal favorite, Paul Cayard), she spearheaded the French victory in the 1991 Admiral’s Cup as Corum Saphir. She has also been Antibody (under IMS) and Hesperia V, as well as other pet names. She goes back in the water (at Cowes, IOW, UK) tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Best wishes to all at SA. I follow the website keenly!
(we do love these sort of resurrections. A lot of these old IOR boats are indeed worth saving and making them into what is very much like a classic car. If you or someone you know is doing a similar project, drop us a note – we’d love to feature it! – ed)
