We are glad to see that Karma turned out to be Good Karma…
The DK 46, Boomerang, is floating after being aground on the reef fronting the Ala Wai Harbor in Waikiki. I am very fortunate that there was no damage to the hull or rig, not even a scratch in the paint.
The boat will be out of commission until I have a new rudder and keel installed.
I would like to thank all those who expressed concern for the safety of my crew and the excellent work of Randy Cates in the towing and salvage of my boat.
Surviving a severe grounding in large breaking surf is a very rare event and I am thankful for our great luck and good Karma.
We will be back racing soon and better than ever.
Aloha,
John Spadaro
