When people think of sailboat racing they don’t often think of the Bronx. But one of my favorite places to sail/race is Western Long Island Sound right off of City Island, the Bronx. The unpretentious yacht clubs, the storied Americas Cup history, the incredible view of the NYC skyline from the back deck of the City Island Yacht Club.
And perhaps the most enchanting – the sound of gunfire from the Rodmans Neck Police /FBI shooting range while sailing (or drinking) all add to the charm of the place.
But the course board for the last event on the committee boat seems to me, to capture it best.
