Christ, we almost hate to keep kicking these poor fuckers. Okay, this is the last time…
A man assaulted a Fresno police officer late Wednesday night, continuing to fight even after being shocked repeatedly with a Taser, authorities said. The suspect, Andrew Esparza, 25, of Fresno, was on felony probation for domestic violence when officers tried to arrest him on suspicion of a probation violation, police Sgt. Brian Valles said.
Esparza allegedly punched one officer in the face, then pushed him away and fled on foot. Officers caught up with Esparza in the 1000 block of North Parkway Drive and shocked him with the Taser, but Esparza fought twice through the effects of the device, even grabbing it at one point, Valles said. Esparza was finally arrested when additional officers arrived.
Officers found methamphetamine on Esparza’s person and he allegedly admitted to smoking meth shortly before police attempted to arrest him, Valles said. Esparza was treated at Community Regional Medical Center and booked into Fresno County Jail. One of the officers was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained during the struggle.
