The crew of the 1D35 have raced the dry sailed Shrek for over 13 years and for the past few years started adding a coat of Harken McLube Hullkote Speed Polish to the hull before every race.
With some race series running five days, the crew doesn’t always get to clean the boat until a couple of weeks after the race. Shrek is smooth, clean and growth free when hauled out. Wipe on, wipe off, and one bottle later, the Shrek is ready to race.
The crew won’t give all of the credit for Shrek’s success to McLube, but they are not willing to challenge the race gods by not using it!
