We are so incredibly saddened to hear of the untimely death of San Diego sailor Bill Bennett, one of the most personable, approachable and damn fine sailors we’ve known in this town for the last 25 years. We raced against him, with him, talked story and tipped a few with Billy, we understand he had a terrible accident that resulted in severe brain injury that ended his life.
One of the very few guys always with a smile and heartfelt interest in other’s well-being, seemingly always. We know we speak for hundreds of people who knew Bill and had the absolute pleasure of sailing with him. You will be missed.
