Ryan Breymaier from the Ocean Masters Race onboard Hugo Boss as they hone in on the finish…
We are working hard here, staying alive!
After passing thru the straits of Gibraltar, which was not easy as evidenced by the loss of our closest competitor, we have been sailing opportunistically up the med, aiming for the shortest path to Barcelona. We have had breeze at times, mostly none, ghosting with the code o, and are preparing for a night of upwind sailing in 20 knots or so.
What a lovely body of water for a sailing race! At least it’s tactical and the destination more than makes up for the lack of breeze. I am sure we will park again just outside the city, but should
finish in the early hours of Monday morning. Looking forward to Barcelona, wifey, and some real food!
This has been quite a race thus far, and the finish promises to be unreal..”
