We have an almost unbelievable story about race officials from Stockton (yep, that’s close to Fresno) accepting the entry and rating of the Hobie 33 Still Crazy for the Ditch Run, only to change their rating, with zero notification, after the start of the race!
This particular bit of idiocy took the class win from the Hobie, dropping them to fourth with their new, made up rating, courtesy of the race officials. Presented with the error of their ways and the facts to prove it, they did nothing, other than refuse to right their wrong and deliver a bit of hostility to the owner and skipper of the 33 in the process.
That this happened up in Hillbilly Heaven comes as no surprise, after all it is Stockton. We’ll have the full story asap.
