UPDATE: Oracle throws in the towel after getting absolutely trounced in the last half of Race 5, and Kostecki pulled their single ‘postponement card’, sending OTUSA home after just one humiliating race.
Did the boat break? If so, we didn’t see it. Did Oracle’s will break? That is a distinct possibility. With the team already down by 6 points the forums are rife with speculation about Coutts’ remaining moves. Does a Knight replace Jimmy overnight? Bigger grinders so JK can look around every now and again?
Almost hard to believe that Oracle tactician John Kostecki did what you never do in match racing, split tacks when leading and not staying between the mark and your competition in race #1 today. He absolutely gave it away, and must have zero confidence in Oracle’s ability to hang with ETNZ upwind….
