Looks like a NoCal screwing was issued to the SoCal boys sailing a 15 year-old Inter 20 that was 5th to finish at 5:40 pm and would have been (we think) the overall winner of the Delta DitchRun, had they not been wrongly protested and thrown out by the RC. Claiming that the RC had a boat “ in the area” that saw them not round buoy 19, they chucked Hobbledehoy for not rounding buoy 19. Yet the GPS image above would appear to clearly show that they rounded the mark, and there is a Farr 40 who witnessed that they did indeed round the mark. But the accused boat had no idea that they were being protested and they are now asking for redress. Calls and e-mails to the race chair and protest committee have gone unreturned. Can’t wait to see what happens next….
