Tears are falling around the world today, because one of sailing’s brightest lights has been snuffed out. Volvo Ocean Race legend Magnus Olsson – a man known for his iconic and infectious smile as well as his incredible passion and kindness, succumbed to complications from a stroke this morning at age 64. Team SCA manager Richard Brisius put it best: “Mange was the greatest person I have ever met, one of my very best friends, and one of the greatest sailors ever. He was a unique man who brought energy, humour and love to everyone around him. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.”
There’s a beautiful video tribute from the VOR here; have a look. Add your thoughts on Mange in the thread.
