clean kills it

Proving that even the blindest squirrel can find a few nuts, Clean and team on the Puerto Rican Melges 32 Smile and Wave destroyed a mixed Melges 32/24 fleet at the BVI Spring Regatta this past week. Owner/driver Jaime Torres dealt with all possible conditions from 8 to 28 knots as he helmed his way to 10 bullets in 10 races with Judah “The Macabee” Rubin on tactics, beating stacked Olympic/AC/VOR crews on INTAC and Synergy GT as well as two local M24s.  “I told you after the Rolex that we wouldn’t be DFL again, but this is beyond all my expectations,” Clean told us via text from the one strip club on Tortola.  “We’re pretty sure those guys kept the motor on all week, but we were a little scared of pissing off Clean if we protested them,”  said INTAC tactician Richard Clarke. “We’ve seen what that guy does to people who piss him off…”  Results are here.  Photo thanks to Todd VanSickle/BVI Spring Regatta and more here.
