We’ve gotta say it: Sean Langman is pretty damned cool. He goes from a maxi to an ancient woody, sailing two Hobarts in the slowest boat in the fleet after years of running some of the fastest. Then he buys an ORMA 60, renames it Team Australia, and last week, smashes Mari Cha III’s Sydney to Hobart record, also demolishing the 100′ canter Wild Oats XI’s best time on the course. There’s plenty of discussion and more great pics like this one from Tasj in the thread, an Ozzie ABC video report here, a shot of a Moth racing the big trimaran into Hobart here, and Mari Cha’s documentary of the ’99 record here. The TA team posted some raw video here, and there’s more coming.
